Abstarct: The Standard Model of the particle physics describes the fundamental particles and their interactions. The model turned out to be a great success both theoretically and experimentally over the past century. In the Standard Model in order to generate the particle masses, spontaneous symmetry breaking is introduced, without it the fundamental particles remain massless. When the concept of spontaneous symmetry breaking is applied, it generates a scalar particle, called the Higgs boson. The Higgs boson is one of the particles of the Standard Model which is very important in particle physics. It is introduced to explain the mass origins of all other particles. Search for the Higgs boson has become the center of interest in the recent experiments. This thesis is focused on explaining the Higgs boson properties, the production and decay modes of the Higgs boson in the Standard Model, calculation of the Higgs boson production cross section and its decay modes, and considering those equations that is related to the scalar bosons. To obtain the Higgs boson production cross section, we have used Calchep which is a package for simulation of high energy physics processes and calculation of them in partonic level. We have calculated the Higgs boson production cross section in different mechanisms of production and compare them.
