Abstarct:   Magnetic adsorbents are used to remove environmental pollutants, particularly potentially toxic elements in aqueous solutions. Among these absorbers, magnetic ferrites have shown excellent performance to adsorb potentially toxic elements. Recently, magnetic materials and their composites such as magnetic nanoparticles/chitosan/ activated carbon/graphene oxide and etc, have been studied due to their high surface area and high functional groups. On the other hand, the recent investigation interests mostly focus on extraction of nanomaterials from biomass wastes. In the present study, magnetic nanomaterials (Mg1-xCaxFe2O4, 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.8) were prepared via a straightforward sol-gel method. These materials had a crystallite size of approximately 30 nm, surface areas ranging from 3.40 to 24.99 m2/g, and adsorption capacities in the range of 36.7 to 100 mg/g. Next, the graphene oxide was obtained from oak fruit peel (OFP) waste using graphitization method and the composites (GO/MCF) were prepared by hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized using various techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The prepared nanomaterials (NMs) were evaluated for the adsorption capacity of Cd (II) ions from aqueous solution via Flam Atomic Adsorption Spectroscopy (F-AAS). The impact of numerous factors on amount of Cd (II) adsorption, such as contact time (1-60 min), pH (3-8), dose (0.002-0.03 g) and initial Cd (II) ion concentration (5-60 mg/l), was assessed. baxsed on kinetic studies, the adsorption capacity of Cd (II) ions for the prepared NMs followed the pseudo-second order. Two isotherm models were analyzed, and the Langmuir model was found to be the best fit for the NMs. Among as-prepared NMs, the Mg0.8Ca0.2Fe2O4 (qe=100 mg/g), Mg0.2Ca0.8Fe2O4 (qe=90 mg/g), GO/MCF2 (qe=266 mg/g) and GO/MCF8 (qe=200 mg/g) samples exhibited the highest adsorption performance under conditions contact time 20 min, pH 7, NMs dosage 3 and 2 mg, ions at a concentration 60 mg/l. Overall, the MCF2, MCF8, GO/MCF2 and GO/MCF8 could be used as effective adsorbents for the elimination of toxic Cd (II) mextal ions from polluted aqueous solution. According to the investigation of possibility mechanisms, it was found that both chemisorption and physisorption occurred in adsorption process.
