Today, mextal oxides have many applications. One of these applications is their photocatalytic properties. Titanium oxide semiconductor has attracted a lot of attention compared to other semiconductors due to its high emission power, non-toxicity, cheap price and radiation resistance. Recent research has shown that the photocatalytic efficiency of titanium oxide depends on its crystal structure, and the reason for this property can be attributed to differences in electron-cavity recombination, surface adsorption capacity or energy gap between rutile and anatase phases. However, it is expected that due to the factors affecting the photocatalytic properties, by reducing other nanoparticles, the photocatalytic properties can be improved.
In this study, we seek to control the particle size by changing the reaction time by synthesizing rutile phase titanium oxide by hydrothermal method, which is a simple method with high efficiency. The Raman spectra of the samples show that the nanoparticle size decreases with increasing reaction time, which is confirmed by the XRD spectrum and SEM images. The Raman scattering of nanoparticles indicates only the rutile phase, in which the active mode of the Eg Raman becomes sharper as the reaction time increases, indicating an improvement in the quality of the crystals formed, On the other hand, the synthesis of titanium oxide nanoparticles during the longer reaction time has caused an blue shift in the nanoparticle adsorption band due to the quantum constraint phenomenon. We become a nanostructured tape gap and enhance its photocatalytic properties.
In the continuation of this research, by synthesizing titanium oxide nanoparticles of anatase phase, which has high photocatalytic properties, the degradation of methylene blue dye, which is one of the contaminants in textile carcass effluents, has been investigated, also using a combination of two phases Titanium oxide ,We were able to achieve better photocatalytic degradation.
