QC514 : Resolving Position Resolution of a 2D MWPC Detector using a Pico-Second TDCs Module

Abstarct: MWPC detector used in various cases where low dead time, large active area, availability of position an energy information simultaneousl are concerned. X ray diffraction investigation, synchrotron radiation detection, high energy physics, crystallography, low energy neutron imaging and nuclear medicine are some of MWPC detector applications. In this thesis, time resolution of MWPC detector has been resolved using two nuclear electronics, namely, NIM and VME standard electronics. VME standard electronics has lots of advantageous comparing NIM standard electronics. In this thesis that has been done in Institute for research in fundamental sciences (IPM), Iranian Light Source Facility (ILSF), Controller module V1718, TDC module V1190A and Digitizer module V1721 of CAEN Company with VME standard have been used. Moreover, to analyse Digitizer data, a code has been written in C++ language.
