Abstarct: In this thesis, ZnS thin films were prepared by spin and dip coating sol-gel technique. To gain the optimize conditions, some parameters such as deposition technique, the rate of spinning and annealing process were investigated. Then the effects of some parameters such as substrate type, pH of the solution and the concentration amount of Cu and Mn elements that were used as doping substances on the optical and structural properties of zinc sulfide thin films were studied. The thickness, optical band gap, imaginary and real part of dielectric constant and optical conductivity of samples were estimated by means of Swanpoel method. Also XRD and FESEM analyzes were used to characterize the structure and surface morphology of the samples. The results of these studies show that optimize conditions to grow ZnS thin films are: 1) using spin sol-gel method instead of dip method, because by this method, we can achieve smoother and thinner samples compared to dip method.2) the rate of 2000 rpm compared to the take 1500 and 3000 rpm attains samples with higher quality. 3) annealing at 400℃ for 5 times and under after each depositions leads to smoother samples. While all the prepared samples on glass substrate were amorph, depositing on quartz substrate leads to crystallization. Increasing the concentration of doped Mn and Cu affects the optical properties of samples and leads to decrease in particle sizes.
