NA94 : The effect of the educational environment on the academic achievement of university students (Case example: Shahrood University of Technology)

The current research aims to identify and analyze the indicators and effective solutions baxsed on the physical and social factors of the educational environment on students' academic achievement at the level of Shahrood University of Technology located in Semnan province. It also shows the desired 8 indicators, including students' personality characteristics, professors' educational characteristics, and the academic program from the perspective of the social university environment, as well as access, safety and security, aesthetics and green space, the indoor classroom environment, use and activity from the perspective of the physical university environment. To what extent does it play an effective role in the academic achievement of students. In order to collect data and analyze them, a descxriptive-analytical method was used. Among 14 faculties, three faculties of mathematical sciences, architectural engineering and urban planning, and chemical and materials engineering with the number of 1182 male and female students were randomly selected and the number of 300 According to Cochran's test score (290), the valid questionnaire was found to be sufficient. The reliability of the research was determined by Cronbach's alpha test 0.942, and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was higher than 0.7, and the validity of the content was also confirmed by the recognition of the relevant professors and experts. In the inferential part, by using SPSS version 26 and the structural equation model, and especially the path analysis technique using SmartPLS version 3 software, to examine the specified paths of the research according to the conceptual model. The findings of the research showed that the effect of the educational physical environment with path coefficient (0.409) on student academic achievement is greater than the effect of the educational social environment with path coefficient (0.230). Also, among the components of social and physical environment, indoor classroom environment, aesthetics and green space, students' personality characteristics and safety and security had a significant impact on student academic achievement. Research, practical and implementation solutions and suggestions were made baxsed on the analysis.
