Abstarct: Today, the growth of the industry and the increase of cars cause many changes in the urban structure, including urban neighborhoods and their vitality. For this reason, paying attention to the environment as one of the important factors to increase vitality in urban areas is very important. A review of few studies related to the influence of the environment on the vitality of neighborhoods in Iranian cities has been done by the method of complete structural equation modeling. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to investigate the impact of the environment on the vitality in the neighborhoods of Sabzeh Maidan and Hundred Dazah of Babol city. The research has been carried out quantitatively and with a cross-sectional survey method. The statistical research population includes the residents and users of the places, and the sampling method is accessible. The volume of respondents was calculated using Gpower software and with the power of 0.90% of their total volume, it was equal to 389 people. First, we collected 457 samples, which reached 400 samples by removing distorted and outlier data. The reliabilities of the questionnaire were approved by Cronbach's alpha and factor analysis. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by university professors and the construct validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by factor analysis. The results of the research showed that social relationships with a path coefficient of 0.318 and a significance coefficient of 0.001 and physical form with a path coefficient of 0.314 and a significance coefficient of 0.000 affect vitality on the 99% confidence level. Changes in age with a path coefficient of -0.136 and a significance coefficient of 0.047 at a 95% confidence level and access to uses with a path coefficient of 0.515 and a significance coefficient of 0.008 at a 99% confidence level through the general mediation of social relations on services According to the obtained results, social relations, which as a mediating variable compared to changes in the physical environment (physical form, access to uses, tools and furniture) had more influence on vitality and among environmental changes. Physically, it had a greater impact on vitality. Finally, environmental improvement strategies are presented in order to increase the vitality of neighborhoods.
