Abstarct: This study examines the causal relationship between poverty and corruption in selected oil and non-oil countries. The countries studied in this study are the member countries of the European Union, which in the period 2007-2018 has examined the causal relationship between variables. The econometric model used in the present study is Panel Var. The results show that increases in inflation, poverty, population and unemployment in the previous period increase corruption in the next period. According to the results of the present study, the government should legislate policies that reduce corruption both in the current period and in the next period.
