Abstarct: The aim of this study was to investigate the relation between happiness, positive perfectionism and perceptual athletic performance of the male students who participated in a first tournament intra-school athletic Olympiad. It was a correlative study and the methodology was descxriptive. The population was all of the second grade high school boys in Khorasan Razavi province that were participated in an intra-school Olympiad (N=157,537). baxsed on Morgan’s table, 370 individuals selected as random cluster sample from Mashhad, Fariman, Khaaf, Sabzevar, Torbat Heydariye, Neyshabour, Roshtkhar, Tabadkan, Kashmar and Sarakhs. The questionnaires of personal characteristics, Glan team perceptual athletic performance (2003), Lubomirski happiness (1991) and Gotwals and Dunn multidimensional perfectionism in sport (2009) were filled by the participants. The validity of the questionnaires confirmed by sport management specialist, psychologists, teachers and athlete students and their reliability determined 0.82, 0.76 and 0.8 by Cronbach’s alpha test, respectively. In order to analysis the data from statistical descxriptive and inferential tests (Pearson correlation test and regression coefficients), in the meaningful area α≤ 0.05 was used. Results showed that the positive perfectionism factor affects the perceptual athletic performance; in a way that the positive perfectionism impact factor was 35.7%. However the happiness didn’t have a meaningful impact on the athletic performance. Positive perfectionism (r=0.358, p=0.001), personal standard subscales (p=0.001, r=0.278), and discipline and arrangement (p=0.001, r=0.321) have a positive and meaningful relation with perceptual athletic performance. In addition there is a positive and meaningful relation between positive perfectionism and happiness (p=0.001 and r=0.230) .Due to the importance of progress in athletic performance, teachers and coaches can improve athletic performance by attending its related parameters including happiness and perfectionism.
