Abstarct: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between horizontal interactions and team commitment with the mediating role of team cohesion in sports teams in damghan and shahroud province. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descxriptive-survey research in terms of data collection method. The method of data collection was field and using a questionnaire. The statistical population of this research includes all members of sports teams (team disciplines) in Semnan province, which according to Morgan table, 152 people have been considered as a research sample. The researcher's sampling method was also simple random. The research questionnaire contained four parts of questions: demographic characteristics, horizontal communication, team commitment and team cohesion. The results of structural equation modeling showed that all the hypotheses of the research have been confirmed and therefore it can be concluded that horizontal communication directly affects the emotional commitment of the team and indirectly through the mediating variable also affects the emotional commitment of the team. It explains directly 17% and indirectly 10% of changes in emotional commitment. According to the research results, it can be said that if a proper program is designed and developed for the efficiency of horizontal communication and team cohesion, a committed athlete will be more efficient than expected and will do all his duties and responsibilities with enthusiasm
