GV298 : The effect of love of sports on the loyalty of sports fans with the mediating role of emotional experiences

Abstarct: Abstract The current research was done with the aim of the effect of love for sports on the loyalty of sports fans with the mediator role of emotional experiences.The method of the current research was descxriptive-correlational in nature and cross-sectional in terms of time. The statistical population of this research included fans of volleyball, basketball, equestrian and football sports teams in Golestan province. Sampling method was available.Finally, 285 questionnaires were completed and analyzed. The data collection tools were the standard questionnaires of sports love by Bang et al. (2008), fan loyalty by Abolhasani (2015), emotional experiences by Prayag et al. (2013). The face and content validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by the opinion of 10 sports management professors. The construct validity of the questionnaires was also confirmed. In order to determine the reliability of the research tool, Cronbach's alpha and composite reliability were used. Data analysis by structural equation modeling method in Pi software. L. S was done. The results showed that love for sports has a positive and significant effect on the loyalty of sports fans and emotional experiences. In addition, emotional experiences have a positive and significant effect on the loyalty of sports fans. Also, the results showed that emotional experiences play a mediating role in the relationship between love for sports and the loyalty of sports fans. Therefore, by increasing positive emotional experiences and increasing people's love for sports, their loyalty to sports teams can be improved. It is suggested that the sports teams have legal and regular fan centers and specific and written programs are provided to these centers by the club and these centers use different strategies to attract the interest and love of the fans to the teams.
