Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and coping strategies of referees in Semnan province. The research was descxriptive and applied. The statistical population of this study consisted of all football referees in Semnan province and the number of samples was considered as a whole number. The self-efficacy questionnaire (Schwartz and Jerusalem, 1981) and coping strategies (Smith et al., 1991) were used to collect data. The face and content validity of the questionnaires were confirmed by 8 experts and professors of sports management. To determine the reliability of the questionnaires, 20 distribution questionnaires and Cronbach's alpha, self-efficacy questionnaires and coping strategies were obtained 0.77 and 0.78, respectively, which indicates that the reliability status is appropriate. Descxriptive and inferential statistics were used for statistical analysis of data using SPSS software. Due to the normality of data distribution, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the correlation between variables. The results of inferential analysis of data showed that there was a positive and significant effect between self-efficacy and coping strategies and all its components (except relief from anxiety). It is suggested that training skills to increase self-efficacy and coping strategies be on the agenda of the Football Federation and by reducing and facilitating stressors, provide the grounds for encouraging referees to use positive coping strategies.
