GV110 : The role of job autonomy and employee-organization relationship on job satisfaction of Sport and youth staff of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province

Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of job autonomy and employee-organization relationship in job satisfaction among staff of sports and youth departments of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari province. The population of this research was all staff of sport and youth departments of the province (N= 160). Sample size was equal to population and 146 samples were analyzed. After evaluation of the questionnaires validity and reliability, Job autonomy questionnaire (Jung, 1995), employee-organization relationship questionnaire (Hon & Grunigs, 1999), and job satisfaction (Hon & Grunigs, 1999) questionnaire was used to collect the data. The content validity of questionnaire confirmed by 10 experts and to determine the structural validity of the questionnaires, confirmatory factor analysis were applied. Then to determine the reliability of the questionnaires, a pilot study on 30 employee was conducted. The results of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient showed (Job autonomy = 0.87) (employee-organization relationship = 0.90) (job satisfaction = 0.81) that the questionnaires have acceptable reliability. .also, Used of Pearson correlation and Structural Equation Modeling to test the hypotheses. Findings indicated that Job autonomy has a significant and positive effect on the employee-organization relationship. Also, job autonomy showed a positive and significant direct and indirect effect on job satisfaction. In this model employee-organization relationship was a mediator variable. Another result of this research was the direct and significant effect of employee-organization relationship on job satisfaction. Endogenous Variables’ R-Square indicated that respectively 45 % and 35 %of the variance of employee-organization relationship and job satisfaction explained by exogenous variables. The model showed a good fit to the data.
