Abstarct: In this research, the Accumulative Roll Bonding (ARB), which is one of the methods of Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD), was used to produce Al/MgO mextal matrix composite. The purpose of this research was to investigate the mechanical properties, corrosion and microstructure of Al/MgO composite.Aluminum sheets annealed in different ARB cycles were compared with the composite with 0.5 vol% of MgO powder particles. In order to evaluate the mechanical properties in different cycles, hardness tests and tensile tests were performed. Also, optical and scanning electron microscopes and X-ray diffraction tests were used to examine the microstructure and fracture surface analysis. The results show that the mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength and yield strength have improved in the composite state compared to the state without reinforcing particles. The yield strength and tensile strength were improved by increasing the number of cycles up to 4 cycles, and after 4 cycles, the properties of the sheet decreased, so that the 4-cycle composite sheet is the most optimal state. The hardness of composite samples is almost twice that of monolithic aluminum samples. The amount of elongation in pure aluminum samples and composite samples after 2, 4 and 6 cycles is 10, 16, 13 and 7, 6, 8 respectively. The amount of elongation in composite samples has decreased compared to pure samples, which is due to the decrease in toughness and increase in hardness of the samples with the addition of MgO. Corrosion resistance in the sixth cycle of the process is higher than the other two cycles. The polarization resistance of the samples also increases with the increase in the number of cycles and reaches its maximum value in the sample with 6 cycles.
