Abstarct: The coal is the most abundant fossil fuel in the world and it has been used for many centuries as an important source of energy. But the coal has long been considered a source of trace elements. Some coal mines are being introduced as an economic source of trace elements. Mehmanduye mining area is located 77 km N of Shahrood, easten Alborz coal region. The coal deposits of this area are part of Shemshak group with upper Triassic-lower Jurassic in age, which are limited to dolomitic limestones of Elica formation, from the bottom, and limestones of Delichay formation, from the top. Mehmanduye coal area belong to Tazare section and divide to three subsection: Pashkelat, Asiab, and Klariz. Mineralogical studies was performed by XRD, SEM, Raman analaysis and polarizan microscope. Albite, Anorite, Anhydride and Kaolinite minerals were determined by XRD analysis. The presence of Sericite, Gypsum, Galena, Zircon, Pyrite, Calcite, Dolomite and Siderite minerals and Molybdenum phase were determined by SEM analysis. Rutil was determined by Raman spectroscopy. The predominant maceral was Vitrinite. baxsed on ICP analysis and comparison of the concentration of the elements in coal ash content of the study ( P30 laxyer ) with the average ash content of the world , Bismuth element, with mean value 5.2 ppm has the highest enrichment ( about 20 times ) and then , Cu , Zn and As have high enrichment. In comparison with coal ashes of 4 iran coal mine (Parvarde Tabas, Tazare, Sangroud, and Alasht), Cadmium with mean value 7.2 ppm has shown the highest enrichment among other elements and elements such as Sb , Bi , Pb , Zn , Tl , Cu and Mo have high enrichment.
