Abstarct: The societies’ concerns for supplying minerals beside the positive and negative effects of mining operations have increased with population growth, technology development and appearance of new demands. The concept of sustainable development was first introduced in the late 20th century to make balance in three fields of economy, society and environment. In recent years, the sustainable development concept in mining industry has been widely considered. Therefore, in long-term programming, it is essential to assess the economic, environmental and social conditions accurately as three main pillars. The ultimate pit is the pit shape at the end of the mine’s lifetime in terms of exhausted extractable resource.. This research’s objective is to determine ultimate pit limit of Zarshooran gold mine, one of the most important active mine in the country, regarding sustainable development principles. For this purpose, economic block model is provided to maximize net present value using grade block model of mine’s latest topographic situation, revenue and costs parameters of mineral and waste blocks. In the following, the experts’ opinion is assessed using a questionnaire in which 12 sustainable development indices were given weight utilizing Delphi-Fuzzy analytical hierarchy process approach and finally, a model is presented to determine ultimate pit limit merging sustainable development principles. baxsed on this research’s results, the stable ultimate pit limit has17.5 million tons of ore with an averaged grade of 3.8 g/ton and a stripping ratio of 7:1 which in comparison with instable ultimate pit limit has 6% ore reduction. The value of sustainable development pillars including environmental, social and economic ones in this mine is calculated as 0.38, 0.31 and 0.29, respectively. `
