Abstarct: Direct sampling bunch pasting algorithm has been proposed in multiple-point geostatistics. The fraction of training image which is searched and considering a threshold for distance between patches which are extracted from simulation grid and TI, are two limits for reducing the time of calculation. Although these parameters reduce the calculation time, but they have negative impact on continuity of structure and reproduction rate of conditioning data due to disregarding a fraction of TI's patterns. The aim of this study is to provide a method to reduce the calculation time. In this way the limits of direct-sampling are ignored. In this study the direct-sampling bunch-pasting algorithm has been changed to use the Fourier transform in the process of template matching in TI. Two artificial training images has been used to generate some conditional and unconditional realizations. According to the simulation results of direct sampling bunch pasting and direct sampling baxsed on Fourier transform, using of FFT makes some improvement: • It increase the continuity of structures. • It doubles reproduction rate of conditioning data in average. • The calculation time for realizations which are generated by using of Fourier transform is 6.4 percent of minimum calculation time of direct sampling bunch pasting algorithm.
