Abstarct: Coastal Fars gravimetric project in Fars province was carried out by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in 2004, to find buried salt domes and determine characteristics of faults in the region. Lavarestan structure with 4203 gravimetric stations in a regular gridding of 1000*250 m, is an important target in this area. Anomaly map of residual gravity was obtained after corrections and regional effects removal. Considering the role of anticlines in determination of hydrocarbon reservoirs, their geometric parameters is of great importance in order to reach better interpretation results. Depth model of structural geology for this anticline, was prepared by national Iranian directorate of oil exploration. This model is baxsed on geological evidence and surface measures. The main objective of this study was to optimize the geological model (at depth sections) using potential field data. For complete coverage of Lavarestan anticline, 5 profiles with appropriate intervals were selected on gravity data. Then, two dimension inverse modelling was performed using Encome Modelvision software. Geometrical and physical parameters are changed stage by stage and calculations are repeated until differences of observed anomaly and calculated anomaly become minimized.
