Abstarct: Regarding that the concentration section and especially the flotation process has the most fundamental role in the efficiency of a mineral processing plant, modeling and optimization of this process in Phase2 of Sungun Copper Complex is of particular importance. Several parameters are effective in the performance of this section, so it is difficult to control all of these parameters and this operation shows great sensitivity to these parameters. Therefore, accurate and continuous control of all these parameters is very important and to achieve the desired result in this section, one of the most effective tasks is modeling and optimizing the flotation circuit. To model the flotation process, sampling was performed from different parts of Phase 2 of Sungun Copper Complex. Also, mineralogy studies of the input feed were performed and the average retention time of different parts of the process was calculated. Mineralogy results demonstrated that the feed of flotation circuit consisted of 5 species and the mean retention time for the rougher stage was 56 minutes. Modeling of the flotation process was performed using MODSIM and Designe Expert 12 software and mathematical modeling was performed using Excel spreadsheet software. Total flotation circuit recovery with mathematical modeling, Designe Expert 12 and MODSIM was 92.78, 93.30 and 86.2, respectively. Consumption amount of 8.12 g/t Z11, 12.52 g/t Flomin, 5.43 g/t A70 and 5.34 g/t A65 when the input feed tonnage and the input feed grade were respectively 107.83 t/h and 0.9%, was obtained as a mode optimal using Designe Expert 12 software. .
