Abstarct: In this thesis, a fuzzy sliding mode control law is proposed for 3-dimensional nonlinear ODEs of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) model. The complexity and coupling between states make analysis and designing more complex. The aim of controller design is to increase CD4+ cells and reduce the viruses and infection cells. First, to this reason, the model of system is described in the form of two subsystems by using Lie Bracket. Then, a sliding mode controller is developed for the system in the presence of parametric uncertainties. In addition, a fuzzy system is adopted to approximate the unknown terms. The stability of the closed loop system is verified viia the Lyapunov function. With respect to the schedule of drug dosage injection, two scenarios are considered for simulation. Finally, the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller in the presence of uncertainties.
