Abstarct: The main contribution of this research is modeling and multi-objective optimization of off-grid hybrid renewable system with biodiesel generator and battery bank. There are many investigations baxsed on hybrid wind and photovoltaic power systems but the investigation on the hybrid wind/photovoltaic/biodiesel/battery system is rarely found. Also considering the different types of storage systems is not included in previous studies. Here, the optimal design of a biodiesel/wind/photovoltaic/battery energy system for an off-grid area in Iran is studied. The objective of the optimum design is to minimize cost and pollutions and maximize the reliability (manifested as loss of power supply probability) of the hybrid system. For this cause, modeling, optimization, Economic Analyses, Sensitivity analyses on different types of batteries, load, components prices, interest rate, fuel prices and etc. has been done. The results show that the biodiesel/photovoltaic/battery system is the optimum choice. The proposed hybrid system has less fuel consumption, 13% cheaper, less Levelized cost of energy, 98.35% reduction of pollutions, renewable penetration of over 90% and also high reliability due to using biodiesel generator and battery bank as backup systems compared to common diesel generator systems. Keywords: Renewable Hybrid Energy System, Biodiesel Energy, Sensitivity Analysis, Battery Bank Storage, Multi-Objective Optimization
