Abstarct: Transportation technology has always had significant impact on the development of civilizations, given Iran's infrastructure as well as geographical extent, there are many capacities to analyze and also analyzing transportation cost reduction factors that we are trying to analyze. The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility of using natural gas in locomotive fuel in Iran. For this aim, specific geographical characteristics between the two railway stations are selected in MATLAB software as the test system by simulating the locomotive performance and the rail line with. The first scenario is to combine the complementary fuel with locomotive fuel baxse GT_26 from EMD Company, and the second scenario is the usage of locomotive with CG_260 gasoline engine baxse from Caterpillar Company, and both scenarios have been investigated. One of the impressive factors in final price of product is the type of fuel consumption in the national transportation network that will be mentioned to the rail network case by case. In this study, the fuel consumption of the train is simulated and calculated according to the physical characteristics and relationships in the field of effective forces of train movement for the first time. There is acceptable difference in fuel consumption in diesel baxse mode with statistical data. The use of natural gas fuel requires the use of particular vessels, one item was considered as an appropriate option by examining manufacturers of CNG tanks and Shipping Tanks of LNG. Finally, with the economic analysis of the plans, the cost of each alternative fuels are calculated, it should be mentioned that the impact of government support is quite evident in that and the results are finally examined.
