Abstarct: Guided missiles use seekers to improve target accuracy. In this study, free gyroscope seeker with permanent magnet rotor which guided with electromagnetic torque was investigated. At first, free gyro seeker’s dynamic equations as well as related electromagnetic torque equations were extracted in the simplest form and then were validated with standard properties of free gyro seeker. Regarding the nonlinear equations of system, the Linear Feedback System was used to control the seeker. The linear feedback system controls the system precisely in hypothetical case that dynamics and parameters of system are fully determine; but it has a poor performs in real situation and in the presence of uncertainties, so the designer must consider the resistance of controller. In next step acts of sliding mode controller, optimization of controller parameters using genetic algorithm and minimizing the total absolute error of system as the cost function shows the free gyro seeker choose the rose pattern as optimal path. At the end the possibility of creating torque come out for guiding the visual system of seeker.
