Abstarct: In this study, according to the increasing importance of enrgy in the world and in industries, and important role of heat transfer to save more enrgy and increasing of the efficiency, a trying to find the optimal heat transfer and pressur drop through the mextal foam, in different shapes and reynold numbers has been carried out. Hydrodynamic and heat transfer experiments are conducted in a non-circular channel, containing symmetrically heated aluminium and copper foams of 40 mm thickness and porosity of 66%, 76%, 85% and 90% , with water as the cooling fluid. Then those parameters affecting the results like heat transport coefficient of conduction has been investigated. Finally, with changes in shape of foams in the center of the channel, heat transfer through the channles with partial mextal foam has been carried out and comparsion between fully load channel and partial load channel has been investigated.
