Abstarct: Previous studies in the field of energy used in University (Campus 1) shows that the situation of energy consumption is capable to improve. Thus, in this research, the use of methods of distributed generation, feasibility of using renewable energy sources for electricity generation, technical and economic analysis of hybrid renewable energy and also a hybrid renewable energies and fossil fuels has been done. In this study, The HOMER energy modeling software which has been developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) at department of energy in USA for the design of micro power generation systems, have been used to help compare different technologies to produce electricity. The university electrical and thermal requirements were identified by estimation of electrical and thermal load from October 1389 to 1390. Potential of solar and wind resource energies in Shahroud, is the main motivation for this investigation about renewable energies and hybrid techniques for provide energy requirement of Shahroud University. This studies compare some individual and hybrid scheme consisting of wind energy system, micro turbine and electric net to provide electrical and heat consumption of mentioned university. Results shown that the hybrid scheme of wind generation and trans-net electric supply has a 11.5 years payback and hybrid scheme of micro turbine and trans-net electric supply used as CHP system has a 4,5 years payback if the excess generated electricity sale to network.
