Abstarct: The proposed design in this study is a solar water heater system which is capable to generate electricity. In this design thermoelectric modules as well as Fresnel lens have been used in the order of generating electricity and concentrating sunlight on heat absorber reserve, respectively. In order to evaluate the ability of converting solar energy to efficient heat and electricity, an experimental setup has been designed and built by means of a thermoelectric module and common Fresnel lens. Results indicate that in radiation intensity of 705 W/m2, 1.08 W electrical power has been generated. Besides, in this radiation intensity the temperature of inlet water (cold water) has been increased about 3.94˚C. According to result, it is proposed to use a six Fresnel lens array for collecting solar energy in this design (which transfers solar energy from focal lenses to thermoelectric module by the use of mineral oil) with the aim of getting maximum efficiency from the equipments which are used in design’s optimization.
