Abstarct: The expansion of cities and consequently excessive growth of urban population in different countries in the world, especially in recent years, has led to extra usage and excessive generation of municipal solid waste in urban areas. Proper locating for landfilling these wastes is one of the most important management aspects of urban solid wastes. Inappropriate location of landfills will result in adverse environmental, economic and social impacts. The purpose of this study is to identify and introduce suitable sites for municipal solid waste disposal in Kermanshah city. For this study, 25 laxyers of information from environmental, economic and social criteria were used and processed using analytical methods such as Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Network Analysis Process (ANP), Simple Additive Weighted (SAW), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) for optimize locating of landfilling within the study area. Consequently, by using AHP, ANP, SAW, TOPSIS process, the pairwise comparison matrix of criteria was created and final weight of each data laxyer was calculated using software such as; Excel, Expert Choice11, Super Decisions, and finally modeled in GIS environment. Overlay laxyers were identified and appropriately located in the south and south west of the study area, taking into account the minimum area required for landfilling over the next 22 years. The final results of the models were categorized into five areas of very suitable, suitable, relatively suitable, unsuitable and very unsuitable location of landfill. In AHP method 6.4% of total area identified as very suitable category for landfilling and using ANP method 4.5% of total area identified as very suitable category. Also, in SAW and TOPSIS methods 5.3% and 3.2% of total area identified as very suitable category respectively. As a result of this analytical methods the best location for landfilling of municipal solid wastes in Kermanshah city selected in west and south west of the city.
