Abstarct: For a long time that Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement (RCCP) has been taken into consideration as one of concrete pavement types due to the ease of implementation and no need to steel reinforcement. Unlike other concrete pavements, RCCP is enough dry to be compacted by vibratory rollers. Due to the growth of industrial wastes, researchers have tended to use waste in RCCP mix. Large amounts of electric wires and cables annually produced and these products have a lot of wastes. Cross-lixnked polyethylene (XLPE) is one of this wastes used and it is rapidly growing in this years. In fact XLPE Used for insulation of electric wires and cables and it is non-biodegradable component. This study was carried out to investigate the use of XLPE waste as aggregate in RCCP mix. XLPE waste as aggregate with different volume ratio was replaced by the natural coarse aggregate of concrete mix. This replacement was conducted with 5, 15, 30 and 50 %. Unit weight, VeBe time, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength were measured for all specimens. The results indicated that using XLPE waste changed properties of fresh and hardened concrete. XLPE waste causes reduction of unit weight and VeBe time. The results showed that replacing 5 % of coarse aggregate with XLPE waste increased 10% 28-d splitting tensile strength of RCCP. In addition, the 28-d compressive and flexural strengths of this concrete mix became greater than the minimum compressive and flexural strength determined in RCCP guide. According to the test results, using XLPE waste in more than 5 % of coarse aggregate of the mix are recommended for low traffic pavements, rural roads and sidewalks. Moreover, using XLPE waste increased ductility and resistance against RCCP cracking. Overall, using XLPE waste in RCCP can prevents entering wastes into the environment. And, it reduces landfill cost and it is energy saving.
