Abstarct: Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is one of the most important strategic products in Iran. Pest insects are important factor limiting the production of wheat. Aphids are among the most common pests of cereals. Greenbug Schizaphis graminum Rondani is one of the most important pests of cereal, especially wheat. Aphids have a high reproductive rate and become mature in a short period of time. Therefore, they can significantly increase their population in a short time. The type and quality of food can affect the growth and reproduction of the aphids. Knowing the effects of host plant on growth and reproductive characteristics will be effective in predicting the risk of population flooding and proper management of pest control. It is important that many host features not only affect the growth but also regeneration and survival of the herbivore. This research was conducted on five wheat cultivars of Rakhshan, Antonius, Lukolus and Baharan and Pishgam cultivar as a control to select susceptible and resistant cultivars to this pest. The biological parameters of green wheat aphid on Anthony cultivar as susceptible and Rakhshan cultivar as resistant and Pishgam cultivar as control were studied in the field condition. The nymphal development time, mortality, longevity and adult fertility of the aphid were recorded daily. The intrinsic rate of increase (rm), finite rate of increase (λ), and population doubling time (DT) parameters were calculated. The results showed that the duration of nymphal period in these cultivars was not significantly different. Anthony's cultivar showed a significant difference in reproduction. The intrinsic rate of population growth (Rm) showed that Antonius cultivar is susceptible to green wheat aphids and can be rapidly increased in the presence of favorable conditions. The results showed that two cultivars of Antonius and pioneer were suitable cultivars for the growth of green wheat aphid. This aphid on Rakhshan cultivar had the lowest amount of intrinsic rate of increase and the finite rate of population increase and the highest population doubling period, due to the low aphid reproduction rate on this cultivar.
