Abstarct: In order to investigate the effect of ultrasonic waves as a priming factor and methanol foliar application as the source of carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis to achieve more yield in sesame, four experiments included a laboratory experiment, a greenhouse experiment, and two field experiments in 2015 In Jiroft and Jazmourian. The experiments were carried out in a factorial baxsed on randomized complete block design with four replications. The factors studied in two laboratory and greenhouse experiments included ultrasonic waves intensity at three levels (20, 30 and 40 kHz) and duration at four levels (2, 4, 6 and 8 minutes). Result indicated that in a laboratory experiment, the interaction of intensity and duration of priming with ultrasonic waves increased the germination speed, mean germination time, mean daily germination, percentage of abnormal seedling, seed vigor, root length and Plumule length. The main effect of frequency and duration of priming with ultrasonic waves showed a significant effect on germination percentage and germination uniformity. The ultrasound priming also showed a significant effect on morphological and physiological characteristics of sesame including plant height, stem diameter, chlorophyll content, catalase and superoxide dismutase enzymes, leaf area, seedling vigor, root length and stem length. Interaction of duration and intensity of ultrasonic waves in the combination of 8-minute priming treatment with 40 kHz Ultrasonic waves showed the most effect in most of studied characteristics. The results of the laboratory test showed that with increasing the intensity and duration of priming with ultrasonic waves, the percentage of abnormal and deformed seedling also increased. In the greenhouse experiment, the percentage of emergence, the rate of emergence and morphological indices including plant height, leaf area, root length, stem length and total biomass were affected by the interaction of intensity and duration of priming with ultrasonic waves. The highest percentage of sesame emergence in the priming treatment combination for 6 minutes with ultrasonic waves of 30 kHz was obtained. Priming treatment with ultrasonic waves for 40 minutes at 8 kHz showed the highest in leaf area, root length, stem length and total biomass. In field experiments, the time of methanol spraying at two levels (before and after flowering) and the duration of priming with ultrasonic waves at four levels (2, 4, 6 and 8 minutes) and methanol concentration at three levels (0, 20 and 40 Volumetric percentages) and place of experiment in two levels (Jiroft and Jazmourian) were studeid. The interaction of methanol concentration and the application of ultrasonic waves showed a significant effect on leaf area, number of stems, stem diameter, plant height, carotenoids, soluble sugars, proline, anthocyanin, capsule number and 1000-seed weight. The highest leaf area, number of stems, stem diameter, plant height and number of capsules in the priming treatment combination with ultrasonic waves for 6 minutes and methanol spraying with 40% volume concentration were obtained. The interaction of methanol foliar application and the duration of priming with ultrasonic waves showed a significant effect on the number of stems and anthocyanin levels. Combined analysis of the experimental data in two locations showed that the interaction of time of spraying and methanol concentration on the leaf area, number of stems, stem diameter, plant height, chlorophyll b, chlorophylls, number of capsules, number of seeds per capsule, 1000 seed weight, grain yield, biomass Total, harvest index, soluble sugars, proline, anthocyanin and leaf relative water content were significant. methanol spraying with 40% concentration showed the highest of above characteristics in the pre-flowering stage. In field experiments by increasing the priming time and methanol concenteration, Most characteristics showed an increasing trend. According to the interaction of duration of priming with ultrasonic, methanol concenteration, and methanol foliar application time, The highest yield was obtained in the priming treatment for 6 minutes and methanol spraying with 40% concentration in the pre-flowering stage.
