S369 : The effect of hormone priming on quantity and quality traits of soybean under drought stress

Abstarct: To evaluate the effect of hormone priming on some traits and yield of soybean under drought stress، a field experiment was carried out in split plot baxsed on randomized complete block in 3 replications at Jajarm in 2016. Drought stress in 2 levels: 7 days interval (No stress) and 14 days interval (drought stress) were in main plot and priming in 7 levels were in sub plot. Priming levels were include control, Gibberellic acin (GA) in 3 levels (50, 100 and 150 ppm) Abscisic acid (ABA) in 3 levels (50, 100 and 150 ppm). Priming treatment were done before planting seeds. Stress treatment applied after plant complete establishment.The results showed drought stress decreased stem height, stem diameter, total dry weight and chlorophyll. RWC decreased 12.23% by drought stress and EC increased 11.11% by drought stress. The number of pods per plant, the number of seed per pod, the weight of 1000 seeds and seed yield decreased by drought stress. Oil percentage 0.9% decreased by drought stress and protein percentage 1.82% increased by drought stress. Priming with 100 ppm ABA and 100 ppm GA increased stem height. Apply of hormone priming in this research increased LAI and total dry weight. The apply of ABA and GA priming increase RWC and decrease EC. Seed yield and components yield include of the number pod per plant, number seed per pod and weight of 1000 seed increased by priming. Oil percentage 0.31% increased by priming. The apply of hormone priming in drought stress conditions prevented the decreased in RWC and prevented the incresed in EC. Hormone priming prevented the decrease weight of 1000 seed, number seed per pod and seed yeild under drought stress. Consequently, in this experiment, the apply of 100 ppm GA and 100 ppm ABA can be introduced as the best concentration.
