Abstarct: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of deficit conditions and salicylic acid on growth characteristics and yield quality of borago (Borago Officinalis L.) at mycorrhizal symbiosis condition in 2013-2014. This experiment was carried out as Split-Plot factorial baxsed on Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replication. In this study, the main Plot was water deficit conditions in three levels: 1- without drought stress (5 days irrigation), 2- moderate stress (8 days irrigation) and 3- severe stress (11 days irrigation), the combination of priming with salicylic acid at 2 levels: (non- priming and priming) and mycorrhizae symbiosis at 2 levels (non-application and application of mycorrhiza) were considered as subplots. baxsed on the results, interaction between different levels of deficit conditions and priming with salicylic acid was significant on total dry weight, oil yield and amount of linolenic acid traits. The result showed that, interaction between different levels of deficit conditions and mycorrhizae symbiosis was significant on trait of total dry weight, root colonization and amount of linolenic acid. The result showed that, total dry weight, oil yield and linolenic acid was affected by interaction between priming with salicylic acid and mycorrhizae symbiosis and also interaction between different levels of deficit condition and priming with salicylic acid and mycorrhizae symbiosis. baxsed on mean comparisons, treatments combination of without stress + priming with salicylic acid increased total dry weight (60 percent), oil yield (70 percent) and amount of linolenic acid (4.61 percent) in compared with severe stress + non-priming with salicylic acid. baxsed on mean comparisons, treatments combination of priming with salicylic acid+ Mycorrhizal inoculation increased amount of linolenic acid and oil yield. also HI baxsed on the yield of flowering shoot increased from 43.77 percent in treatments combination of priming with salicylic acid+ non- inoculation of mycorrhiza to 48.59 percent in non-priming with salicylic acid + non- inoculation of mycorrhiza. Mean comparisons showed treatments combination of without stress + priming with salicylic acid + Mycorrhizal inoculation increased total dry weight (65 percent) and oil yield (80 percent) in compared with sever stress + non-priming with salicylic acid+ non-inoculation of mycorrhiza. Also, treatment combination of without stress + priming with salicylic acid+ Mycorrhizal inoculation increased amount of linolenic acid (5.53 percent) in compared with sever stress + non-priming with salicylic acid+ Mycorrhizal inoculation. Generally in order to achieve maximum performance in farming of borago officinalis, it is advisable to apply the condition without stress + priming with priming with salicylic acid + Mycorrhizal inoculation.
