Abstarct: Meimeh plain in Zayandehrud basin is located at 95 kilometer NE of Isfahan. Due to population growth and increase in industrial and agricultural activities local groundwater have overexploited, especially near Meimeh and Vazvan city. This factor in addition to the recent climatological drought has caused a negative balance, resulting in a successive decrease in water table. There fo,r in order to manage the aquifer and optimize well discharge, a mathematical model was used. In this study, numerical code of MODFLOW-2000 in GMS package which is the most reliable code for groundwater modeling was applied. For model design, required data including meteorological, hydrological, hydrogeological, geophysics and geological data ware gathered and analyzed. With respect to the aquifer dimension, topography, bedrock and hydrodynamic coefficients, a conceptual model was prepared and then converted to a numerical model. Model was calibrated in steady state for Azar 1389, and then for a period of one year (1388-1389) in unsteady state, considering 4 stress periods and time steps. After calibration process, model was verified for the subsequent water years. The results confirmed model capability in prediction of aquifer condition for future stresses. Groundwater table was predicted according to 4 scenarios of no change in recent conditions, drought conditions, increase in precipitation and change in discharges. The results show more drawdown in aquifer water table for the two first scenario.
