Abstarct: Yurtbaba Zinc and Lead deposit with geographical renge between longitude of 54° 35’ 42” to 54° 39’ 54” and latitude of 36° 32’ 10” to 36° 31’ 30” is located at northwest of Mojen around of Shahrood city and at an altitude of 3500 meters above sea level. This area is a part of eastern Alborz tectonic zone and is located in the geological maps of Aliabad (1:100000) and gorgan (1:250000). Stratigraphy of this area is including Shamshak formation at the age of Terrias to Lias, thick beded limestone of Lar formation at the age of Jurassic, Cretaceous limestone, green tuffs of Karaj formation at the age of Eocene and Fajan conglomerates at the age of Paleocene. These formations are characterized with Northwest- Southeast trend (N65W) and dip the southwest. Minerals with shapes including lenses, veins and filling empty spaces as epigenetic and stratabound minerals with different dimensions are hosted in the Lar formation and their distribution completely follows the empty spaces of Lar formation and mineralization is limited to the part of Lar formation that is in adjacent of Shamshak formation. Mineralization of this deposit is simple and including Smithsonite (Zinc carbonate), Hemimorphite or Calamine (Zinc silicate), galen and cerussite. Calcite and Aragonite are gangues. Results of geochemical analyzes and presence of some special elements indicates to a syngenetic and sedimentary depositional environment for this deposit. Study of fluid inclusions has indicated to mixing of two fluids with different physic-chemical conditions as the most important mechanism for deposition of minerals. Isotopic studies wich have been carried for 18O, 13C and 36S isotopes, indicates to a marine and biologic limestone composition for Calcite and a marine source for reduced Sulphur. Studying of geology, terxture, geochemistry, fluid inclusions and isotopic composition have been showed that this deposit has been formed and concentrated as epigenetic and in the spaces and fractures of Lar formation and finally we have been classified this deposit in the Mississippi valley type subgroup of sedimentary hosted lead and zin deposits wich have been formed in a foreland basin.
