Abstarct: Shirband region is a part of sedimentary structural zone of eastern Alborz which is located in north of Damqan. Stratigraphic studies illustrate outcrops of Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic rock units in this area with prevailing east – west to northeast – southeast structural trend. In this research cinematic and kinematic of fold and faults and situation of stress field of this area has been investigated. The strike of main faults in this area have east-west to northeast – southwest trend and reverse – left lateral mechanism. This geometrical arrangement and kinematics of faults is compatible with regional left lateral transpression. Survey of situation of folding in this area demonstrate that general trend of folding is east – west to northeast – southwest which this strike is due to northward movement of Arabian plate. baxsed on interlimb angle of fold (fluety 1964), most of the fold have taken place in open field. baxsed on the dip of axial plane and plunge of hinge line, the studied fold are classified into two domains: 1- upright sub horizontal 2-upright gentle plunging and just a few located in rank of steeply inclined gently plunging. The obtained result from the survey of situation of stress field using fold and faults plane show that direction of maximum stress have north – south (N-S) strike. Investigation result show shirband cave is a tectonic cave. Fault plane and joints line in this cave are instance for this topic.
