Abstarct: In this project the performance of glassy- carbon electrode coated with multi-walled carbon nanotubes/SBA-15-NH2-Mesoporous-Silica/Bismuth (GC/MWCNTs/SBA-NH2/Bi) was investigated in the simultaneous determination of cadmium(Ⅱ) and lead(Ⅱ) ions in acetate buffer solution at pH = 4.5 using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry(DPASV). This study showed that the GC/MWCNTs/SBA-NH2/Bi electrode have better performance and more sensitivity than the bare glassy carbon electrode. Also the effect of several parameters such as modifiers concentration, pH, preconcentration time, preconcentration potential, scan rate and pulse amplitude on the stripping current were investigated and optimized. Under optimal conditions, the electrode showed a wide linear response to cadmium(Ⅱ) and lead(Ⅱ) ions in the concentration range of 5.0 – 550.0 μg.L-1 and 10.0 – 550.0 μg.L-1, respectively. The theoretical detection limits was calculated as 1.3 μg.L-1 for cadmium(Ⅱ) and 1.5 μg.L-1 for lead(Ⅱ) ions. The effect of ion interferences was studied for both analytes and the efficiency of the proposed method for the simultaneous determination of cadmium(Ⅱ) and lead(Ⅱ) ions in tap water, swamp soil and battery plant effluent samples was investigated. Comparison of the results obtained in real samples with the flame atomic absorption spectroscopic method confirmed the accuracy of the proposed method.
