QD332 : Synthesis of new polyurethane-urea using tetraboromo phetalhydrazide

Abstarct: 5,6,7,8-Tetrabromo-2,3-dihydro phthalazine-1,4-dione is synthesized by the reaction of 2,3-dihydro phthalazine-1,4-dione with hydrazine in the presence of hydrochloric acid . The obtained monomer was polymerized with tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate(TDI) and Poly(ethylene glycol)s with molecular weights of 400, 1000 g/mol to obtain the related poly(urethane-urea). Also, reaction between phthalic anhydride and hydrazine resulted in 2,3-dihydro phthalazine-1,4-dione. This compound reacted with TDI and Poly(ethylene glycol)s with molecular weights of 400, 1000 g/mol to obtain the related poly(urethane-urea). The structure of the synthesized polymers were characterized by IR, viscometery, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA/DTG) and radiography.
