QD316 : Synthesis of dihydropyridine derivatives in magnetized water

Abstarct: 1,4-Dihydropyridine and polyhydroquinoline derivatives have several biological activities such as the anti-hypertensive, anti-tumor, and anti-diabetic properties. In this study, 1,4-Dihydropyridine and polyhydroquinoline derivatives synthesized in magnetized water at 90 ºC. Three-component reaction of aldehydes, ammonium acetate, and ethyl acetoacetate gives the 1,4-Dihydropyridine derivatives.Moreover,four-component reaction of aldehydes, ammonium acetate, ethyl acetoacetate, and 1,3-cyclohexanedione/dimedone gives the polyhydroquinolines. This green method offers the advantages of short reaction times, low-cost, and quantitative reaction yields.
