Abstarct: In the present research we report work on poly (1-amino-9,10-anthraquinone) (PAAQ) films generated in the absence and presence onto multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) modified glassy carbon (GC) electrode. The expriments were carried out by cyclic voltammetry method, potentiostatic and galvanostatic methods. The electrochemical behaviours of the films were compared by cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique in 0.1 M LiClO4/Acetonitrilesolution the anodic peak currents for the polymer prepared by cyclic voltammetry method is significantly higher than the potentiostatic and galvanostatic. Besides, PAAQ/MWCNT film showed more anodic peak currents be due to more active sites on MWCNT and larger surface area of MWCNT. The cyclic voltammograms of PAAQ/MWCNT recorded at different scan rates revealed the anodic peak currents increase with increasing of scan rate and the redox process is surface controlled. The polymers were charactrised by CV, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. The results obtained from CV and SEM revealed that the MWCNT diffused within the polymers structure. EIS results also confirm the CV results.
