Abstarct: Dihydropyrimidinones (DHPMs) have a wide range of biological activities, antitumor, anti-hypertensive, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory agents, while also possessing cytotoxic activity. 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones derivatives were synthesized in moderate to high yields via a one-pot three component reaction, using aldehydes, ketones or 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with urea, in the presence of catalytic amount of γ-AlOOH (Boehmite). This catalyst is non-toxic, inexpensive and reusable, the catalytic reactions were done with easily available reagent, under solvent-free conditions at 120˚C. With this variation at Biginelli reaction, high yields of the product is obtained.
