Abstarct: In this thesis recent applications of string theory and AdS/CFT correspondence in condensed matter physics is discussed. As an example, Ohmic DC conductivity and Hall conductivity is investigated in Drude model. Using string theory and D-brane configurations, we introduce a model for calculating conductivity. It is shown that in the limit of massive carriers conductivity equation will be simplified and in the stable conditions one finds Drude model results. Also strange mextal behavior with using Lifshitz background is discussed.
