Abstarct: BNCT, a treatment by capturing neutron in Boron, is a radiotherapy technique for treating malignant tumors resistant in chemotherapy and other radiotherapy. This method in compared with conventional radiotherapy can selectively hit the areas of cancer tissue with protection the surrounding healthy tissue. This experimental radiation has been investigated in Finland since 1990. From then on, more than 200 patients with malignant tumors of the head, neck and brain have been treated. Different neutron sources are used for radiation therapy with BNCT method, therefore chapter one is about the selection of suitable neutron source. In this research, we use the accelerator TESQ as a neutron source acting according to the 7Li(p,n)7Be reaction. After the protons emitted from the accelerator and collided with lithium, their energy transferred to the lithium and warming it is caused. So the suitable system is used for cooling the target. The system’s properties and target’s characteristic are represented in second chapter. In addition, the proton beam emitted from the accelerator and hit with target can be caused different reactions. These reactions have been considered in the third chapter. Neutron energy range and intensity of treatment should be baxsed on the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency. So we've designed a collection entixtled shaping the spectrum depending on energy of neutrons from the reaction 7Li(p,n)7Be and the geometry of the cooling package. Finally, the dose from neutrons in the salivary gland has been set by using a computational code MCNPX. These issues together have been proposed with full details in Chapter four and five.
