Abstarct: mextal-Oxide nanostructures are of the most common and also most important nano materials. In addition mextal oxide nano structures also have valuable applications in tire industry, medic, cosmetic and so on. Because of the large number of applications these nanostructures have in industry, it is necessary to develop efficient synthesis methods. Various methods have been suggested for synthesis of mextal-oxide nanostructures most of theme require expensive starting materials and also complex instruments. Thus, nearly all of them are not economical. The aim of this thesis is to find a semi-industrial method to produce mextal-oxide nanostructures regarding to facilities which are accessible in Shahrood University of Technology. Copper oxide nanostructures have been synthesized through tow separated methods; thermal oxidation and electrical discharge in solution. Zinc oxide nanostructures have also synthesized by electrical discharge in solution which is simple and cost effective method and needs no complex instruments. Furthermore low cost starting materials have been used in this methods. The methods have various parameters and effective factors that can be applied to synthesis process. Among this, parameters like temperature and oxidation time can name for thermal oxidation method and distance between electrodes, voltage, AC and DC current, synthesis condition, electrodes diameter and placing condition could name for electrical discharge. Systematic change of each parameter resulted in different nanostructures with various structures and production rate. Some of this effects are investigated in some parts of this thesis. X-ray Diffraction, Dynamic light scattering, Scanning Electron Microscope and X-ray fluorescence have been used for characterization of synthesized nanostructures.
