Abstarct: Many types of research have been done in the field of strategy training and its effects on education. Similar types of research have been done baxsed on the EFL teachers’ perceptions of strategy training, but still there is a big gap. No academic research has been done regarding the other side of education, ‘learners’. In this study, it is tried to gather learners’ perceptions of strategy training in order to draw a useful conclusion and in addition, extract some beneficial implications for the real world education. The present study aims at exploring EFL learners’ perceptions of strategy training. The study took place in Gonbad-e-Kavous, in Golestan province. Twelve males participated in the study. All of the participants were singled out from highly motivated EFL learners who in strategy training. It should be noted that the participants were assured that they remain anonymous during the whole process of research. This study is done baxsed on Charmaz’s grounded theory. This approach has a constructivist orientation in that the researcher is part of what is researched. The constructivist approach sees both data and analyses as created from shared experiences and relationships with participants and other sources of data. The findings revealed that the students involved in this study considered the strategies to be useful. However, they reported that these strategies are not covered in the classes, despite the fact that they were considered conducive to vocabulary learning. Generally, the findings of this study have important implications for EFL teachers in all educational settings to consider better strategies of teaching vocabulary to improve the learning process in general and vocabulary knowledge in particular. Teachers can use the results of this study to improve their teaching practices because students believed that teachers' methods will not have a perfect result.
