Abstarct: Housing is a subject which responds to a complex set of different goals, and at the same time, is a social phenomenon in which the order and type of spaces, as well as their appearance, are influenced by cultural, social and economic factors. The place where people meet each other should be taken into Consideration. Because the meeting circumstances affect the construction and shape of the housing, not just the meeting itself. Since people's need for residential spaces is changing today, as the pattern of life and the structure of families changes, thus, a family’s house of yesterday is no longer suitable for its future, and the lack of attention to the flexibility dimension over time will lead to problems such as low life expectancy and poor performance of the building and environmental problems. Flexibility in the design of contemporary housing can be considered with regard to changes in the dimensions of life and livelihoods as a solution to social resilience and to prevent the breakdown of interactions between society, people and the biological environment. In this regard, it is the duty of architects to strengthen social interactions that create open environments in residential spaces as well as in neighborhoods and, through the development of physical places, support the various needs of solidarity and social cohesion, promotion of identity and place attachment. The purpose of this research is to promote social resilience through the design of architecture in housing. As a result, by reviewing the architecture and its role in increasing social interactions, we have achieved suitable design solutions in order to be able to take a step towards social resilience of the open spaces of residential areas and neighborhoods. After reviewing the theoretical and empirical texts governing the resilience, by reviewing the theories and models and grouping the indicators with conceptual and lexical shares in one category, we have achieved the factors that can improve the social resilience of societies by improving these indicators. So if architectural design can improve these factors, one can claim that architectural design has promoted social resilience. Finally, this research provides a frxamework for identifying and analyzing the social dimension of resilience in dealing with housing transformations. This model, by emphasizing the concept of social resilience, examines the criteria and their impact on management components. According to what has been said, it can be concluded that housing design should be more than just a shelter for people, but as a place to live.
