Abstarct: Plazas are considered as center of gravity of urban spaces and have a significant influence on shaping individual's social identity. Thus they are of utmost importance in architecture and urbanism. Designing of spaces which can sustain people's participation in society improves the quality of life and social interactions. In this regard, the close relationship of human, nature and architecture and the interaction of these elements with each other, make the negligence in nature and environmental conditions in the sustainable urban design impossible. In fact, attention to the principles of human comfort will facilitate the accessibility of living space. Therefore, considering the micro-climate and environmental conditions in designing indoors and outdoors spaces of plaza can ascertain the concept of staying in space with creating suitable environmental conditions. The energy crisis in recent decades has caused increased attention in the principles of sustainability. Wind is one of the factors that is important in the comfort of indoors and outdoors spaces and is directly influenced by the situation of the city. In addition to attention to principles and general rules, the interaction of this climatic element and urban constructions on each other make irrefutable necessity of scrutiny of this element. Nowadays computational fluid dynamic software allows simulating the exact status of wind in urban environments at the design stage. Taking the above mentioned purposes into account, this study attempts to take a step toward creating a sustainable urban public space by analyzing the status of the wind in plaza and allowing maximum use of it in the indoor ventilation at the design stage. To this aim, the software FLUENT, one of the most powerful software on the modeling of fluid flow, is used to simulate airflow in the designed set. Since pedestrian comfort in open space is directly affected by the wind, the design of general form is done on the baxse of comfort and safety against wind and a better leading of air flow .Also considering the importance of the use of natural ventilation, a careful study of air flow situation in interior makes it possible to modify the original design in order to improve natural ventilation. New configurations have been investigated with changes in openings location, the openings size and arrangement of the interior to the final model design with optimum performance at ventilation in terms of speed and distribution of air flow.
