Abstarct: This study aims to evaluate the factors that effect on Shahrood’s acquisition of competitive advantage as a tourism destination and also and to rank these factors in order to achieve a higher managing perception and recognition and to develop these factors to improve tourism quality and finally the economic quality of city of Shahrood. The methodology of the study is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. This study, using the grounded theory method, deals with identification of effective factors on choosing Shahrood as a tourism destination by tourists. For this purpose, seven interviews have been done and the results have been analyzed. Two extra interviews were done to test theoretical saturation of the study. Finally, three factors (the area’s potantial and geograpy, helping factors, and motivating factors) were considered. Using accomplished analysis, a model was suggested for this purpose. In the next step, using analytic network process (ANP), these factors were ranked. The most effective factor was the motivating factor which is at the first place. After that was the area’s potential and geography. And finally helping factors was in the last place of effecting on choosing a destination.
