HA228 : Sustainable Selection of electricity production technologies by using a Multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach: (a case study of Iran)

Abstarct: The purpose of this research is evaluation of electricity generating technologies toward environmental, social and economic goals to help economic policy makers for decreasing the cost and reducing environmental pollution like radiation and also helping them for social development. In order to Iran’s economic improvement by using Multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method and presenting a new and monolithic modelling of electricity principles, the Group FAHP methods, Shannon’s entropy, VIKOR method and Vector Auto Regression model (VAR), Johansen-Jussilius method and error correction pattern, are used. The preferences and principles of each criteria will identify and evaluate according to Iran’s community needs in processes of electricity generation. The results show that solar energy due to VIKOR’s ranking is in first place by 0/88 of confidence level, then the energy of wind energy, gas, water, geothermal and coal is ranking in Second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth . Using coal energy in Iran has no economic profit but solar energy on the other hand is more useful than other energies for economic and social efficiencies due to global warming. It also might reduce the pollution of fossil fuels and makes a proper substrate for these energies’ optimization in Iran.Also; results baxsed on Vector Auto Regression show that GDP, private energy investments, electric power generation and fossil fuel consumption, as renewable energies are significant. Has a positive and significant effect on the economic growth in Iran.And since the Vector Auto Regression model examines the positive correlation between variables, the relationship between the use of renewable energy and economic impact, which affect by each other in Iran cannot reject.
