GV79 : The relationship of social support and self-efficacy with disable athletes participation in physical activities

Abstarct: Although exercise is very good for non-disabled people but if they do not exercise through daily activities somewhat can provide your mobility needs, But disabled people should resolve this need by doing regular sports activities. Social support and self-efficacy could affect the participation of disabled people in physical activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and self-efficacy of disabled athletes for participation in physical activity. The study was descxriptive and correlational method was field conducted. The study population was composed of Khorasan Razavi disabled athletes (N=800) among them 244 persons were selected by cluster random sampling as samples were analyzed. For data collection the questionnaire amount sports participation Ramezani nejad et al. (2004) and Self-Efficacy Questionnaire Lee et al. (2010) and social support questionnaire for measuring social support from family and friends Lee et al. (2010) were used. All questionnaires to verify the face and content validity were 10 experts in the field, Then in order determine the reliability of the questionnaire, 30 questionnaires were distributed in a pilot study and finally amount questionnaires using Cronbach's alpha coefficient For self-efficacy, social support of family and social support of friends, respectively 0/748 , 0/877 and 0/731 using software (SPSS) version 21 was calculated. To test the hypotheses, Pearson correlation and regression were used. The results showed that self-efficacy, social support of family and social support of friends there is a significant correlation with the participation of disabled athletes Sport, Also between social support of family and social support of friends there is a significant correlation with self-efficacy disabled athletes. baxsed on the research findings to family, friends and other people who are associated with persons with disabilities it is recommended that With their support and enhance self-efficacy in persons with disabilities are to increase their participation in physical activity.
