GV242 : The Impact of Perceived Social Support and Coping Strategies on Covid -19 Anxiety Athletes with a Mediating Role in Life Satisfaction

Abstarct: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of perceived social support and coping strategies on athletes' covid-19 anxiety regarding the role of life satisfaction mediator. The method of current research is descxriptive-correlative in terms of quiddity, and cross-sectional in terms of time. The research statistical population is all football plaxyers of Semnan province league in adult category, where using the random sampling method, 208 people were selected as a sample. The research tools are 4 standard questionnaires of perceived social support by Zimmet et al. (1988), efficient coping strategies by Finset et al. (2002) and corona anxiety by Lee (2020). Structural equations with variance-oriented approach is used to check the research assumptions. Furthermore, SPSS23 and Smart-PLS 3.2.8 software are used for data analysis. The results showed that perceived social support and coping strategies have a meaningful negative effect on athletes' covid-19 anxiety and a meaningful positive effect on life satisfaction. The results indicate that life satisfaction has a significant inverse effect on covid-19 anxiety. Moreover, the life satisfaction mediating role in relationship between perceived social support and coping strategies on athletes' covid-19 anxiety was supported in the study. According to the research results, by carrying out planning and psychological counseling, it is possible to deal with the level of social support and athletes’ coping strategies so as to reduce the anxiety caused by the covid-19 disease.
